瓊斯爵士所設計是一座244公尺長的「開啟橋」，共用了36857噸混凝土、27260噸磚及11300噸鋼鐵製作而成，兩座橋基高7.6公尺，相距76公尺，橋基上建有兩座花崗岩與鋼鐵結構、高40公尺的方型五層主塔，塔基以鋼纜吊橋與兩岸相連，塔上建有五個小尖塔的大理石屋頂，更顯「倫敦塔橋」的高聳壯觀。「倫敦塔橋」橋身分為上、下兩層，上層為供遊客觀賞用的懸空人行道，下層可供車輛通行，當有船隻通過時，「倫敦塔橋」主塔內的機器會啟動將上千噸的橋身向上折起讓船隻通行，最初是由蒸汽驅動液壓來控制橋面的升降，1976年後蒸汽已被發電機取代至今。
