Story
Alfreda Gerald - Broken Promised Land (Original Mix)
Alfreda Gerald, vocalist with Elton John, Yanni, Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge (Dead and Co.) and others, is releasing her first single in 15 years! 'Broken Promised Land', written by Grammy award winner Warren Haynes, and produced and arranged by Trammell Starks (London Symphony Orchestra), blends the power of rock 'n' roll, with a cinematic orchestral backdrop. The one word that can best describe Alfreda's voice is 'POWERHOUSE'. It is a blend of Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Steven Tyler and Steve Perry, all rolled into one! She is a classically trained soprano, and she says that 'singing with an orchestra is my first love. This is the perfect opportunity to blend all the genres of music that I love into one...creating a brand new musical experience. It's my goal to create an experience that no one has ever had, and one they'll never forget.
'Broken Promised Land' signifies where we are right now. The world has been through so much recently, and the promised land that we all thought we had, was broken. So many of us were forced to do things they thought they'd never do, just to survive. Some turned to sell drugs, drug, and alcohol addiction or were forced into the streets by lack of financial resources. Many were forced to live in abusive conditions, even deciding to sell their souls. That's what this song is about. We're here now, and it doesn't taste like freedom.'
