。幼體回到深海會吃掉軟體生物的內臟，寄宿在裡面
。絨毛狀的泳足讓曼德拉戎好尋找宿主，而倒鉤狀的外骨骼可以鉤住宿主以利侵蝕
。強大的咬合力，以及不同的感光度的眼睛，所以能看到人類看不見的東西
