傳說鹽水發生瘟疫，死傷眾多，神明指示施放鞭炮才得以驅除瘟疫，才演變成今日蜂炮活動。

Yanshui Beehive Fireworks is coming！
Beehive fireworks is listed as one of the world’s three major folk festivals, and is one of the most significant religious activities in Taiwan. It will be held on the day before and on the day of the Lantern Festival in Yanshui district. Visitors around the world come and experience beehive fireworks every year.
Legend has it that there was a plague in Yanshui, and the death toll increased every day. The deity indicated that on the night of lantern festival day, people must set off fireworks to expel the plague. And it becomes beehive fireworks nowadays.
