尋血獵犬是一種大型嗅覺獵犬。 尋血獵犬最初以狩獵鹿和野豬為繁殖目的，而且從中世紀起還用作追蹤罪犯或搜索失蹤人口之警犬用途，現在大部分專門用於跟蹤。尋血獵犬是聖休伯特在比利時飼養獵犬的後裔。 尋血獵犬以其異常敏銳的嗅覺及頑強的跟蹤本能聞名，甚至可長途追蹤幾天前留下的氣味蹤跡。

The Bloodhound is a large olfactory hound. Bloodhounds were originally bred to hunt deer and wild boar, and since the Middle Ages have also been used as police dogs to track criminals or search for missing persons, and are now mostly used exclusively for tracking. The Bloodhound is a descendant of St. Hubert's bred hunting dogs in Belgium. Bloodhounds are known for their exceptionally keen sense of smell and tenacious tracking instinct, even tracking long distances of scent trails left over from days earlier.
