烏汶府是泰國東部最大的府，也是泰國最早能看到日出的地方。這裡已有200多年的歷史了，曾經被寮國統治過。後來泰皇五大帝之首的鄭信大帝（泰國的華裔民族英雄）在1779年帶領軍隊攻打寮國時，重新奪回了該城賜名為「烏汶城」也被稱為「蓮花之城」。
烏汶府算是一座邊境小城，因為地理位置較為偏僻所以鮮少有遊客踏足。一般來烏汶府的遊客都是衝著當地極具盛名、神秘莫測的寺廟而來的。這座寺廟叫做「詩琳通瓦拉藍寺」，是一座散發著光芒的寺廟。
「詩琳通瓦拉藍寺」Wat Sirindhorn Wararam坐落在烏汶府的高山上，寺廟的建築風格屬於琅勃拉邦式佛寺。琅勃拉邦是寮國著名的古都與佛教中心。當地獨具特色的寺廟建築都以這座城市的名字來命名。因為烏汶府曾經被寮國統治過，所以當地就留下了琅勃拉邦式的佛寺。琅勃拉邦式的佛寺最大的特色就在它的屋頂，建築的屋頂呈現出一個大大的「人」字。一般寺廟的頂部是三個「人」形屋頂相疊在一起，在頂部還會有一些尖尖的形狀進行裝飾。寺廟的牆壁上面有精緻的浮雕、門口有形態奇怪的東南亞守護神的雕像，跟中國的石獅子是一個道理。
每到夜幕降臨之後詩琳通瓦拉藍寺就開始散發它的光芒，據說因為在寺廟建造的時候，一位僧人突發奇想，為寺廟抹上一層層夜光塗料，這些由特殊螢光材料製成的花紋在光線的照射下呈現出綠瑩瑩的光芒。一到晚上詩琳通瓦拉藍寺大雄寶殿中金黃色的燈光就會亮起。裡面供奉著佛祖的金色雕像，在燈光的照射下更加金碧輝煌。因為寺廟的建築像寮國風格，大雄寶殿是沒有牆和窗的開放式建築，大雄寶殿的背面，有一幅巨大的菩提樹壁畫，這個壁畫上面就塗著螢光，到了晚上菩提樹壁畫周圍會散發瑩瑩光芒，而寺廟周圍的地板上也會亮起各種花紋的藍色螢光，因此又得名「螢光寺」。
遊客白天在這裡看不到新奇之處，惟有夜幕下，才能體驗它真正的美感。夜越深，天越黑，光芒就越強烈。
如果幸運地遇上皓皎明月，詩琳通瓦拉藍寺由淡淡的螢光，逐漸地轉變成金碧輝煌、璀璨奪目，漫天的繁星讓這裡猶如一座墜入凡間的天上宮闕。

The resulting pattern shows a green gleam under the illumination of the light. At night, the golden lights in the Mahavira Hall of the Sirindhorn Valaran Temple will light up. There is a golden statue of Buddha enshrined inside, which is more resplendent under the illumination of lights. Because the architecture of the temple is like Lao style, the Mahavira Hall is an open building without walls and windows. On the back of the Mahavira Hall, there is a huge Bodhi tree mural. , and the floor around the temple will also light up with various patterns of blue fluorescent light, so it is also named "Fluorescent Temple".
Tourists can't see the novelty here during the day, and only at night can they experience its true beauty. The darker the night, the darker the sky, the stronger the light.
