Story

戰後台灣隨著外省族群的移入、以及社會的發展，逐漸形成了當代四大名山，又合稱為「四大教團」。四大教團的發源地洽分布於台灣北、中、南、東，影響括其全台各角落，成為最具影響力的四大佛教組織。其信徒約占全台一半的人口。

四大教團除慈濟外，都屬禪宗。其中佛光山、中台山繼承臨濟宗；法鼓山同時繼承臨濟宗與曹洞宗。

慈濟 - 1966年於花蓮縣新城鄉創立，開山住持為釋證嚴（慈濟宗）。

佛光山 - 1967年於高雄市大樹區創立，開山住持為釋星雲。（臨濟宗）

靈鷲山 - 1984年於新北市貢寮區創立，開山住持為釋心道。(寧瑪派、臨濟宗)

法鼓山 - 1989年於新北市金山區創立，開山住持為釋聖嚴。（臨濟宗、曹洞宗）

中台山 - 2001年於南投縣埔里鎮創立，開山住持為釋惟覺。（臨濟宗）

After the war, with the immigration of ethnic groups from other provinces and the development of society, Taiwan has gradually formed the four famous mountains of contemporary times, collectively known as the "Four Religious Orders". The birthplaces of the four major religious groups are distributed in the north, central, south and east of Taiwan, and their influence covers all corners of Taiwan, becoming the most influential four Buddhist organizations. Its followers account for about half of Taiwan's population. Except for Tzu Chi, the four major religious groups belong to Zen Buddhism. Among them, Foguang Mountain and Zhongtai Mountain inherit Linji School; Fagu Mountain inherits Linji School and Caodong School at the same time. Tzu Chi - Founded in Xincheng Township, Hualien County in 1966, the founder of the mountain was Shi Zhengyan (Tzu Chi Sect). Fo Guang Shan - Founded in Dashu District, Kaohsiung City in 1967, the founder of the mountain was Shi Xingyun. (Linji sect) Lingjiu Mountain - Founded in Gongliao District, New Taipei City in 1984, the abbot of the mountain was Shixindao. (Nyingma School, Linji School) Dharma Drum Mountain - Founded in Jinshan District, New Taipei City in 1989, the founding abbot was Shi Shengyan. (Linji Sect, Caodong Sect) Zhongtai Mountain - Founded in Puli Town, Nantou County in 2001, the abbot of the mountain was Shi Weijue. (Linji sect)
