納米比沙漠，一半海水一半火焰，世界上最古老、最乾燥的沙漠。
納米比沙漠（Namib是納馬語）是納米比亞西部的一個沙漠，位於非洲最大的國家公園——納米比—諾克陸夫國家公園內。沙漠面積50,000平方公里，起於安哥拉和納米比亞的邊界，止於奧蘭治河，沿非洲西南大西洋海岸延伸2100公里，該沙漠最寬處達160公里，而最狹處只有10公里，全長1,900公里。納米比沙漠依照納馬語為「一無所有的地方」。這地區被認為是世界上最古老的沙漠，乾旱的氣候已持續了最少8千萬年，沿岸的年降雨量不到25毫米，常常是暴風雨驟然降臨，而全年則往往無雨。納米比亞是非洲最有吸引力的旅遊目的地國之一，而紅沙漠是它最亮的招牌。沙子裡面含有豐富的鐵，經過億萬年的時間，這些鐵經過氧化呈現紅色，裹在了砂石上，因此沙漠表面就變成了紅色。最知名的景點有「大老爹沙丘」、「45號沙丘」，「45號沙丘」足有170米高，形若埃及金字塔。從不同角度及時間，將可看見光線在高達325公尺的「45沙丘」上所創作出的藝術品，唯有親眼所見，才能真正體會「45沙丘」的震撼之美。遠眺這座約在500萬年前就已形成的45號沙丘，沙丘稜線由柔美彎曲的線條勾勒出整體輪廓，在制高點以極其優美的流線展現鬼斧神工般的魅力，沙丘就像一塊紅色畫布  枯木枝椏的影子反映在畫布上，無需費盡心思刻意規劃，皆盡顯大自然打造出的日式庭園的枯山水，流溢出濃濃的禪意。
